NS-ADMIN(1M) NS-ADMIN(1M)
ns-admin - Netscape Servers Administration Server
ns-admin -d config-directory
The config-directory argument tells the server the location of the server
configuration files. The ns-admin command should never be invoked from
the shell. During configuration of a Netscape server, you must specify a
specific port number where your Netscape Administration server is to
listen for admin requests. A single Netscape administration server can
manage all Netscape servers on a host. The default port number is port
81.
Assuming you have not relocated the server root for your administration
server, you can activate the administration server by executing the
following command:
/usr/ns-home/start-admin or /etc/init.d/ns_admin start
Once the server is activated, you can administer your server by running
the Netscape Navigator with the URL for your localhost and specifying the
port number. For instance, http://localhost:81/
See the ns_httpd or ns_commerce release notes and the Netscape
Communications or Commerce Server Administrator's for details on how to
configure your Netscape servers.
To shutdown the administration server invoke the following command
/usr/ns-home/stop-admin or /etc/init.d/ns_admin stop
netscape(1), ns-httpd(1M)
