SITEMGR.CGI(1) SITEMGR.CGI(1)

NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

sitemgr.cgi - sitemgr primary Common Gateway Interface process

SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]

     sitemgr.cgi

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

sitemgr.cgi allows	access to sitemgr(1) data through a HTTP web server.
Installing	sitemgr.sw.server places links into the	default	CGI root
(/var/www/cgi-bin/), which	will enable sitemgr(1) to access the web site
     through it's interface.

sitemgr.cgi should	not be executed	standalone, but	should be used in
     conjunction with the sitemgr(1) client.

FILES    [Toc]    [Back]

     /usr/sitemgr/bin/sitemgr.cgi
     /var/www/cgi-bin/sitemgr.cgi

NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

sitemgr - web content administration and publishing

SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]

     sitemgr [ {-server} {http_server_spec} ] [	-nofork	] [ -web{prefs}	]

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

sitemgr allows a user to publish and administer a web site	that has the
proper sitemgr server extensions (see sitemgr.cgi(1)) installed.

For more information, please consult the on-line help.

OPTIONS    [Toc]    [Back]

Command line options are described	below.

     -nofork
The -nofork option tells sitemgr to run in the foreground.

     -server
The -server http_server_spec option tells sitemgr which http server
to connect to	automatically upon startup (optional).	You may	also
perform this operation within	the sitemgr interface.

     -web{prefs}
The -web{prefs} option tells sitemgr to use the default(s) that are
inherent in the websupport_eoe toolkit. In particular, it will use
the preferences you have set for using a netscape(1) web browser on
your system or those set via the WebViewer control panel,
webcontrol(1). This option can (potentially) be used to allow	the
sitemgr client to administer a site that exists outside a firewall.

"{prefs}" indicates that that	extension to this command-line flag is
optional (you	can use	-web, if so desired).
