STARTDESKTOP(1) STARTDESKTOP(1)

NAME    [Toc]    [Back]

startdesktop - open an IRIX Interactive Desktop dirview of	home directory

SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]

     /usr/lib/desktop/startdesktop

DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]

The startdesktop utility opens a dirview of the user's home directory.
It	does not restart the file manager (fm(1)) on the desktop background,
however. (Compare	with the similar /usr/lib/desktop/telldesktop restart
     command.)

The startdesktop program can be launched from the toolchest (Desktop >
Access Files > In my Home Directory). Users can also run it from a Unix
     shell command line.

For more information about	the entire IRIX	Interactive Desktop
environment, see the IID(1) man page.
