     CAPITEM(1) K-Spool by	Xinet (10/14/99	10.1) CAPITEM(1)

     NAME    [Toc]    [Back]
capitem - look up an item in a printcap entry

     SYNOPSIS    [Toc]    [Back]
	  /usr/etc/appletalk/capitem printer item

     DESCRIPTION    [Toc]    [Back]
The capitem program reads an /etc/printcap entry for the
given	printer	and prints the value of	the 2-letter item on
its standard output, if the item has a value. If capitem
cannot find the given	printer	or item	in the printer's
entry, it will print an error	message	on standard error.

     DIAGNOSTICS    [Toc]    [Back]
If the printer and its item are found	in /etc/printcap, the
exit status is 0. An	exit status of 1 indicates that	item
was not in printer's printcap	entry.	If printer is not
found	in /etc/printcap, the exit status is 2. Any other
problems will	produce	an exit	status of 3.
